Re: good job australia
If your chosen profession/trade means you tour the world (or country), then in times of a global pandemic you either get vaccinated or stay at home.
Same goes for footballers on £500k a week

Seems to be a visa problem rather than covid related.

According to Al Beeba:
Quote:
his team had not requested a visa that permits medical exemptions for being unvaccinated.

… no doubt HMAG will now say had he asked for a vaccine-exemption visa, he’d have been turned down.

Re: Novak Djokovic tries to go to Oz
He never should have had the exemption in the first place but I also hope he now kicks up a fuss so we can see who granted it. I suspect the Government gave him a pass then tried to find a way to backtrack after the public outcry.
Plus it's unfair to tell him he can come in, let him get on the plane over, then deny him at the last moment in the border.

It may well be unfair but my sympathy is extremely, extremely limited for a prominent anti-vaxxer.
Australia have asked Australians abroad to remain there for some time for the health of those at home. The “sports” exemption for entry raised it’s head last year; so could be reasonably anticipated.
I don’t see anything positive to “hope” for in the interests of Novak Djokovic.

Re: Novak Djokovic tries to go to Oz
BBC News has just revealed that his appeal has been adjourned to nect Monday after all evidence has been put together. He remains in detention.

Well in a hotel website bills it as a "luxurious 4.5-star hotel set in a prime location. (doesn't have a tennis court though, so that is definitely inhumane....)
They should check IQ and vaccination status as they seem to be linked...

2022 is starting off stranger than 2021, but this time in a good way!
I add to my agreement with you, jfman and everyone else on this issue.
