How do you listen to an Album?
How does everyone here listain to a new album? Do you skip to the well-reviewed songs, the signals? Do you put it on shuffle? Do you listain to all of it randomly?
I usually do the first. Then forget and come back to it. Its hard to listain to so many songs for so long without losing conceration.

i put the disc in and press play and listen to it. Thats how the artiste intended it to be listened to.

Same here. Bung it in the player and press play. Decide for yourself if you like it or not, not some review deciding for you.

Re: How do you listain to an Album?
It varies. Some albums are a collection of songs, whereas others are a journey. Some albums have a few good songs and the rest vary from dire to average. Some albums are brilliant from start to finish, with only the one or two dodgy songs, if that.

having met a few artistes I appreciate how much goes into an album, and then how the tracks are arranged - though having paid for some cd's I own I feel free to skip over some tracks sometimes!

True but you have to listen to it first to find out

Usually I've heard most of the songs, in one or way or another. I don't often buy modern music, and I'm usually unimpressed when I do.

Earbuds, lie down. If I still don't like it I give it away.

Re: How do you listain to an Album?
I treat it as a future old album. As mentioned, bung it in the player and press play. That's what you will do later on if you decide you like it.
Does anyone ever use shuffle play anyway? I tried it and I hate it. The songs are in a sequence for a reason (usually)

I use shuffle when I'm listening to stuff on a media player and I've got a pretty ecclectic playlist...

Oh, I like setting my mp3 player to random play (across all tracks). Just not within an album.

Re: How do you listain to an Album?
It is actually quite normal for people not to listain to an album right though from start to end. I often skip if i get bored.

Re: How do you listain to an Album?
Open the tray, put it in, press play. Take it out again when it stops.
Don't even know how to put my CD player into shuffle, wouldn't really care anyway, sure it does it though.
