console sales will not feed market share for games, remember each of the consoles manafacturers lose out on income from the console, game sales tell the real story, you also have to realise when the cube was not selling well i doubt many stores had much inventory to sell, then nintendo didnt hold much stock themselves ....

OK, so let me get this straight..

Nintendo stoppped production last Summer (June IIRC).
Nintendo cut prices in September.
The Gamecube is sold out in 50%of stores around 6 months after production stopped.

This is a sign of success how exactly? Even the Dreamcast sold faster than that.
