Yeah, are you upload uplifted yet? If so could easily have been one torrent user hitting his share ratio and stopped seeding.

probably due to the fact you had it on a laptop and kept disconnecting it. This was then seen as line instability. Dont understand why you didnt just use the VM router for it

I've got my DIR-615 hooked onto it at the moment, funny thing being it only went up *after* I hooked it up to a stable router, though yes, once my ping went up the first time I also rebooted my modem about another 30 more times to try get it back down again :P
