Re: Guess the place game
Been there and listened to an evening Jazz concert in 2009 looked incredible with the wing all lit up. Love to go back but I can't travel any longer.
Not going to say where it is as I have already taken a turn.
My comment can be used as a clue

Re: Guess the place game
Well Jo knows where it is. It's up to the rest of you to work out where this building is.
Smithsonian: How did they build that?

Pretty sure the black volcanic rock next to the sea is a clue.

Certainly is.
So to summerise: A music venue on a volcanic Spanish island.
But where?

Re: Guess the place game
I hope you don't mind Halcyon . As no one has come up with the location thought I would give the answer.
It's the Auditorio de Tenerife and is on the sea front at Santa Cruz and it's an awe inspiring, absolutely massive building.

To keep things going I am posting a new location. May not look too interesting but I can promise it's well worth a visit.

I recognise it but can't think where it is. Peak District or Snowdonia?

How long ago? Has the drive been used a lot since? I bet a good portion of what you lost could be recovered

Thank you for picking up on this but the data was, in the main, unrecoverable.
Our son, who is Head of Systems and Security including Disaster Management and Recovery for an international company, worked with his recovery data service team on the drive but it was almost totally corrupted with only a few viewable files left. Ironically the files recovered weren't of any real interest. I did originally offer to use some data recovery software that I had googled but he was horrified.
The worst thing was our son had offered to back up all my stuff on to his server which would have, and now does, automatically store everything on the cloud but I kept forgetting to give him the drive.

Re: Guess the place game
Jo's picture contains one extra clue. The shop is open but something else is too.
I did a quick Google image search and found the same picture.

I Hope you saw something Blue, maybe the picture hides a deeper secret?
My picture is the latest, whilst an earlier ground breaking photograph taken in this location by Alfred Brothers has gone down in history.
