Erm, no. Cycling is a proper sport with proper heroes. Unlike football, which is a mere game.

Well done Chris Froome. No-one came close to him. He attacked when it mattered and few could follow. A thoroughly deserved win, and he seems a gentleman to boot.

Re: Chris Froome wins Tour de France

I enjoy cycling but see no enjoyment in watching loads of people do it 4 three weeks up and down the French countryside being chased by maniacs (some of which are possibly interbred, some in their pants or dressed as chickens throwing urine about)

But each to their own at least this guy ain't a mod

Erm ok. So you don't value it very high as a spectator sport. That's fine, but to claim it's not a sport is madness. The average professional footballer is a certified poof compared to the average professional cyclist. As far as sports go, cycling is one of the most brutal ones, and the Tour de France is the most brutal race in cycling.

Re: Chris Froome wins Tour de France

Lighten up mate, all a bit tongue in cheek I'm a Scotsman that likes cricket for god sake, most scottish people's epitomy of dull. Kinda those in glass houses eh

Not sure using the term u used for describing footballers is too enlightened though. Would maybe edit that. Your right about cycling being brutal right enough, brutal to watch

Personally I find motor racing much duller, but then a lot of sports are pretty dull to watch (unless you like them I guess ).

Well done to Chris btw.

Re: Chris Froome wins Tour de France

Outstanding result for him. Not sure what Team Sky are doing but it's really working for them.

I wonder if he'll get a knighthood out of this as well or is that just reserved for the first time winner?

I used to think cycling was a dull sport until I watched it during the Olympics. I also caught some of the Tour De France this time round and I can see myself getting hooked to watching it.

And yes - well done Chris Froome!

Re: Chris Froome wins Tour de France

Actually I think the dullest sport to watch is golf .In fact I dislike most sports. At least we have a British winner of a world event again so we aren't complete losers at the moment.

You will find that in the last couple of years that British sport has never been so successful so l would say that we have far more winners then losers Maggy.
