I can understand why you might think that but it's very nice the way the wife does it.
Home made chips, with a little salt and lashings of vinegar, then the wife does the mince with finely chopped onion in a thickish gravy, which is then poured over the chips.
Quick, simple and really tasty

We had homemade cottage pie last night with mushy peas and 2 extra thick buttered rounds of bread, equally tasty.

I think I made my point, she has raised her game now and I only occasionally get corned beef which is fine with me.
