Belkin Router?

Hi there,

On the Virgin 2MB service, using a Belkin G+ MIMO router...Every now and again the entire net connection drops out to both our pcs, kicking back in usually within a minute or so. Just wondering what could be causing this? Router/Virgin? Its really beginning to get on my nerves now, happening quite often ,

Chris

Re: Belkin Router?

I had one of these router and it kept doing the same. So I ditched it for my Wireless G router. I did call Belkin and they told me to change security settings and change the channels the router was broadcasting at, but to no avail.

You could try the above, but I think it's a router issue. Contact Belkin.

Cheers for the reply,

Sorry, should have pointed out that we are actually wired in, the wireless was unbearable , still the same problem.

Will probably end up getting onto Belkin about it,

Re: Belkin Router?

I'd go along with that train of thought too.

I had a Belkin router too, and it kept cutting out to both wired and wireless computers just as you described. One way to tell if it's definitely the router (although it not doing it doesn't mean the router is innocent) is check the colour of the lights on the router when it cuts out. If it's green that's good, if it's orange mans your router is definitely up the creek!

Hope that helps.

Same here. Had bad experience with Belkin. The tech support in India didn't really have a clue what they were talking about. Now very happy with Linksys. Can't speak for other brands.
