Non-exclusive meaning they can't keep it for themselves. It means they can show it on their own service, but MGM can also sell it to other VOD providers if it wishes. There's nothing to stop Virgin approaching MGM and also buying non-exclusive VOD rights, if it wants to.

I would have thought Atlantis was more like DS9 - an outpost at the end of a worm hole to another galaxy.
