Bizarre Netgear + Virgin Issue

Hi,

I have the Virgin Samsung 2100c box and a Netgear WPN824 V3 wireless router.

My bizarre issue is this

1, connect laptop to Virgin box - register and surf
2, connect netgear - picks up Virgin DNS, IP etc
3, Laptop connects to Netgear wirelessly, picks up IP etc
4, try to surf and get the NTL device registration page in a loop
5, launch IE again, again the device registration page, no way to progress past it

6, from laptop can ping, www.apple.com etc and telnet on port 80

7,Netgear has nothing blocked, no firewall on laptop etc

Any ideas anyone, its driving me mad -

Time to get a stand alone modem.

If you phone and get a self install kit there's no charge.

Re: Bizarre Netgear + Virgin Issue

I was equally frustrated by the Set Top Box looping into the registration screen. It had worked fine for years, then a few months ago, some days, despite whatever you did to reboot, delete registrations, re-register and such like, you couldn't get on. Upgrading to a separate modem proved to be the reliable solution. It will also let you have access to the faster broadband speeds as those packages get rolled out.
