Angry Ross FTA satellite kit setup!!

As a newbie, I feel I am missing something really simple!!:
Have been trying to set the dish up for 2 days and am rapidly losing patience and hair!!
I have set the dish up with a compass and it seems to be roughly the same direction as the visable sky dishes and I keep getting a signal strength of 60% but the signal quality only spikes to 95% every 20 seconds or so, otherwise it is 0%. I have a satellite finder but I don't think I am using it properly cause I only seem to be finding Sirius 4 and not Astra 2D. Also the needle on the satellite finder keeps bouncing, its not constant - is this normal?

Re: Ross FTA satellite kit setup!!

Sounds like a faulty cable as the sat finder needle should be quite stable. Check the F-plugs on the ends to make sure you don't have a short and that they are installed correctly.

Also remember that the LNB itself should be slightly offset depending on where you are and which sat you're going for.

Try this site with your details and the sat you want
