Quote from The Sun: Darth Vader actor Dave Prowse has died aged 85 after a short illness.
The Star Wars actor, from Bristol, played Luke Skywalker's father and wore the iconic black suit in the original trilogy from 1977 to 1983.
The dad-of-three was nicknamed "Darth Farmer" by his co-star Carrie Fisher due to his strong West Country accent.
His agency Bowington Management described his death as "heart-wrenching" and said the news brings "sadness for us and millions of fans around the world".
Agent Thomas Bowington added: "May the force be with him, always!

Re: RIP Dave Prowse
Can you imagine Darth Vader with a West Country voice.
The first David knew he wasn't the voice of Darth Vader was at the premier.

There are a lot of different stories about whether he knew his voice was going to be used or not. Prowse himself apparently said at the time he thought it waqs going to be re recorded but it was decided not to fly him in. So he would have known he was not going to be the voice maybe he did not who would or how it would sound until the premier. It is also said he knew during filming and he played with the lines as a joke.
