An Easy Question?

Hello all. I'm a newbie member, and this is my 1st post. My question is Instead of networking my sons PC & mine the usual way (Cable Modem, Router, & Card) Can we just use two (2) Cable Modems? One each for each PC? and still both be able to access the internet at the same time. I'm really new to this and any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,

Re: An Easy Question?

Yes if you can get NTL to install 2 cable modems (opening an account in his name maybe) and you will then need to pay then ££Ã ¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£ a month for the service on each modem independantly.

So technically yes, but unless you have money to burn, no. But you are in Idaho, the 43rd state, so YMMV with whoever your cable provider is.

They will install a second modem but you'll have to pay for a separate subscription. If your wallet is huge then I expect this wouldn't be a problem, because you'd each have your own connection and your bandwidth usage wouldn't affect each other, but it would be a LOT cheaper in the long run to go with home networking - i.e getting a router.

Re: An Easy Question?

Take the cheapest route and buy a LINKSYS WRT54GSUK and WUB54GSUK router for £40 while it's still on offer.
