Question Is our Tivo box breaking? Frozen recording and would only play on reboot

Hi,

We got a Tivo (Original) box and we was just watching the MotoGP that was on overnight, at 45 minutes the recording froze.

It wouldn't fast forward, rewind etc.. even through it said it was on the OSD it wasn't.

The only thing it would do is when pressing stop return to the menu.
The TV was working ok it appears

On rebooting the box it worked normally.
Could this be a one off or sign of problems with the box?

Sounds to me that the channel you were recording may have lost its signal, or there was a broadcast fault, so the box kept recording oblivious. It would look like a freeze even though it wasn't.

There were very late changes to the MotoGP on BT Sport for last night as the Qualifying from the night before was delayed by 24 hours.

It might be the box dying. See how it goes, but call VM if it haoppens again,

A re-boot fixes a multitude of glitches, but if your problem keeps happening, I think it's your box that's the issue.

Get a V6 next time is my advice.
