We will offer BT Sport on Virgin Media if it makes commercial sense to do so

-How much will Virgin give them to be part of the XL Pack.
-Or wants an three year deal with no cut if Viewer do not want BT Sports after 30days and Virgin are only puting an three year but like Sky Sports and Sky Movies (Goes up if viewer add channel to Package but is Cut if viewer remove channel from Package) on the table.

I do not work for Virgin Media and is just an Virgin viewer like you.

Bit of a mare really as VM (like evertone else) realise that BT and Sky caused each other to pay over the odds for football. I see a similar dillema to the Sky Atlantic issue around percieved value and whether they will gain customers if they take it or lose custom if they don't. Reckon there is a big challenge re sports generally as Sky will no doubt whack their prices up as well to cover their inflated outlay in time for next season.

It seems BT Sports really are in some state of delusion as its simple in that if they don't wholesale on the main providers then their sports escapade will just go belly up just like the others before them.

Bt and sky could do a deal, which benefits both of them to Virgin's detriment.

But all speculation, if price is ok..i might get..else..not get not watch..simples

Don't be so sure - neither Setanta or ESPN had income from offering triple-play services.

There's no way that BT will make BT Sports on VM an more attractive offer than BT Sports on BT's own platform. Why should they? This is about grabbing VM customers and live football is a great draw for that, just ask Sky.

l think there's a big difference in that Sky have far more in terms of Football and Sports rights and no matter what BT do l think they will find it a much harder sell then they think especially in these hard economic times especially when people are cutting back a lot more.

My own personnel view is that IF BT Sports isnt on VM by the time the new season starts, then l will switch back to Sky for Premier League Football.

BT Sports will go the same way as Setanta, they have spent a lot of money on the football rights, just as Setanta did and didn't get enought cvcustomers.

Yes Sky do have the customer base, but if the cost of a Pat alone channel, that will put customers off.

Newcastle ain't going to be on BT much and I don't enjoy watching either Manchester so its not too big of a miss for me if it ends up £13+.

But BT (and TalkTalk) are targeting VM, not Sky. BT and Sky both have content to offer the other side - VM have none.

Virgin have been a target for years but yet their customer numbers continue to grow HD so l think it will not make much of a difference as l think you are underplaying Virgin own strengths and in my mind and others they are quite considerable.

You can't compare previous situations to now since, up until now, VM haven't had to compete against 2 rival fibre-optic broadband competitors who both have vaults full of TV content, including EPL football.

I think you're underestimating the threat YouView / BT / TalkTalk pose to VM but we'll have to agree to disagree.

It's about so much more than just TV though , a fully unbundled phone/BB customer with Talk Talk and Sky still nets Openreach money around £90.00 a year I believe granted its considerably less than if that customer directly subscribed with BT retail , a customer on VM has a completely seperate line and pays all their sub to VM so as you can see BT are very keen on winning some of these customers back and installing a BT line at their address.
