I mentioned in another thread just before xmas that Dexter was being rebooted. Production started earlier this year and little snippets and teasers are starting to drop:
This is going to be interesting. Season 4 was by far my favourite out of the eight seasons.

Dexter fans will soon see the Showtime series return and they will also see the return of a big killer from the original run – or at least the actor who played him will be back.
John Lithgow was killed by serial killer Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) during season four of the series, but Deadline reports that the actor is back for a ‘short and decisive run’ as the Trinity killer. He will only film on set for one day.
Gary Levine, Showtime President of Entertainment, spoke about the return of the series at the TCA’s on Tuesday, and he sees this return for Dexter as giving the fans a ‘proper finale.’ He said the following about the series, per Deadline:
“Dexter is a jewel in the crown of Showtime and we didn’t do it justice in the end. That has always been a burr under my saddle, We’ve always wanted to see if there was a way to do it right and it took a long time to figure out what that was. It took a long time for Michael [C. Hall] to be willing to revisit the role. We’re thrilled to get [Clive] Phillips back. We finally got to a place that I just can’t wait to show the world. We call it a limited series but the rules say it can’t be a limited series if it’s coming from something that was on the air for a long time. So we call it a special event here. For me, it’s a revisiting of Dexter and a proper finale for a brilliant season.”
Well what a superb season. There are a lot of reboots and remakes around this days and very rarely do they manage to capture the essence and feel of the original. This season was perfect, felt like we had never left him and for all intents and purposes was season 9. It is a shame we won't get to see more of him. I can only hope they continue you it with Harrison as his replacement and Dexter can still be in it as his dark passenger similar to Harry and Debs.
