Not good, i think the update took me 10mins.
I wouldn't risk doing big updates late at night, can you try system restore, maybe you shouldn't have shut it down?

Re: [Update] Windows 10 Discussion
System Restore hasn't worked properly for ages. Might have to resort to my Acronis back up app.

Try the previous link before you do anything so drastic as googling it loads of people have had an issue like yours.

Re: [Update] Windows 10 Discussion
Acronis True Image has always worked really well for me, a full system restore to a couple of days ago went seamlessly in about 15 minutes. Now back in full control, will leave the update alone for a little longer.
Jim.
Useful info from Acronis . https://www.acronis.com/en-us/blog/p...79caa7c1f8d061

As mentioned earlier, System Restore has not worked correctly for some time. That is why I use Acronis True Image, does exactly what it says on the tin, I have a 1TB external USB drive that Acronis uses for regular back ups. Works much better than System Restore ever has for me.
It seems as SnoopZ found that this recent problem is linked to external drives and even wireless USB devices such as a mouse.
I will give it a few days and then try again with external drive and mouse unplugged.

Why is system restore now so rubbish? In the early years of Windows it worked well. In recent years whenever I tried it, it's failed/ got stuck for hours...

Will try that next time I'm in a fix. I just liked the simple concept of system restore, restoring the computer to a time it worked .... Makes sense to me !

I wish they would change the tab and buttons theme as I hate it.
Currently loving Vivaldi it's the best desktop browser I have psrsonally used I think since quiting Chrome and Firefox.

Re: [Update] Windows 10 Discussion
Many of the browsers can be customised by use of a .css file in the appropriate profile. I use this to customise the tabs in FF. Needed after the classic theme restorer plug-in stopped working.
The new tab button only turns green when hovered on. The tabs have gaps between them that the background shows through.
