Tonight a friend introduced me to Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old, it's very very nice, unfortunately it costs a bit more than I usually spend on whisky, so I may have to up my budget in future, as I've been meaning to try it, but it's never on offer in the supermarket

If you like that, may I recommend The Macallan 12 year Old - very smooth, or the Glenkinchie 12yo (a lowland single malt), or the Dalwhinnie 15yo (highland single malt).

I'll add to my wishlist thanks The only Dalwhinnie I've tried was the one they say to put in freezer which I thought was ok, but I remember reading a lot of "experts" saying they were sullying the brand with that one!

There's certainly a lot to choose from, will look out for the Dalwhinnie myself. Now (got me in the mood) drinking Deanston 18yo. Slightly different type to what I usually go for. Best served with a few drop of water this one.
