Another tariff price increase.

My daughter signed up for "unlimited everything" at £15 early last year.

This was increased by 10% to £16.50 last summer.

A letter today says it is going up to £19. And increase of over 15%!

But the letter states that 08 numbers will be free (she has never had to call an 08 number), calls in the EU will cost less (she doesn't travel to the EU), no charge for receiving calls from or within the EU (again of no interest to her), and "more wifi spots" (which she doesn't need as she has unlimited data in her tariff).

So it looks like she is having to pay for things she will never use. Thanks VM.

Unless I'm mistaken it's a 30 day SIMO offer that anyway?

Re: Another tariff price increase.

Unfortunately, it appears that all the telcos are putting up their prices due to the EU edict to reduce roaming call costs, and OFCOM forcing free/reduced cost 08 calls.

Re: Another tariff price increase.

Me too
Their website says....

The charge for your tariff will increase with your July bill each year. Any increase will be in line with the Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation at the time, and we’ll always give you 30 days’ notice of the exact increase each year.
*Includes calls to 0800, 0845, 0870 and 0808 numbers

I dont think the RPI has been near the 15% mark for many years more like 1.5%.
This rise is in breech of this

Cheats. You'd think they were a commercial company out for maximum profit. :-(

Re: Another tariff price increase.

Tell your daughter to ask for a loyalty bonus or she is leaving. O2 took a fiver off from both of my son's bill, when they used this trick ...then I complained, why not me and they gave me a fiver off per month too (I pay 14.99 from 19.99) unlimited calls/text +2G

VM said no. And then they tried to get her to move to a more expensive and limited service.
