Transferring number from Talktalk to VM

Hi

Hope someone can help. I currently have VM Digital TV only acount, but in about a week or so, I should be moving and plan to take out a VM Digital TV, BB and telephone package. My current BB and telephone supplier is Talktalk and I want to keep the same landline number and transfer it to the new address. I have tried to call the VM Movers number, but the guy on the other end didn't really speak good English and got very confused and couldn't help.

Simply my question it is this, can I transfer, port, I think is the correct term, my current landline number to my new address? Before you ask, the current occupants of the new address are already on a full VM cable package.

More importantly, do I have to get a PAC number from Talktalk or do VM do this? Do I have to inform Talktalk that I am closing my account or do VM do this?

I have completed an online form with VM, but they replied by email saying they cannot take any action at the moment as the current occupants are still shown as have an active account at the address. When I completed the form it didn't ask me if I wanted to transfer any numbers.

I know you can port a number from TalkTalk to VM if you are staying the same property, I'm not sure if you can do it if you are moving

You wouldn't need a PAC code, that applies to number transfers on Mobiles only.

I would phone back Virgin early tomorrow and speak to Movers then who should be able to confirm things. Obviously they won't be able to arrange it until the current VM account has been booked to disconnect
