Nope it stopped for a lot of people a loooong time ago, some accounts still have the ability though, I still had POP access up till a recent clean install which scrubbed my Windows folder.

I've clean installed, shall we say "just a few times" and I still have it :/

Edit: actually it's not POP, more like IMAP

I still have POP access on my .com account, but when I set up an .uk one after they removed POP access for new accounts, it didn't have it, on that new one.

Hopefully having the main addy in my Outlook Express 'send/receive list shows me logging in regularly, as I very rarely use it for sending messages and have never had it discontinued.

Yep you'll probably keep the .com access for a while, no doubt they will cut that eventually too at some point though. As long as you access it one way or the other it should stay live, logging in via POP is probably just as good as logging in via messenger or web interface.

you are prolly right about them withdrawing it, at some point, I'll have to re-assess my options, then - thanks for your thoughts on the login

Well I've more storage space than I need in an inbox with Gmail which is free and has an inbox size of 2781 MB of which I'm only using 39 MB currently.I also have a 1 GB free inbox with Yahoo.
