Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Well my son and I actually managed to find a level of acceptance over Christmas and to actually find a small level of enjoyment of the season. William may not have been present but his spirit was with us as we forged a new experience.

That is what Christmas should all be about

I think acceptance of what can't be changed is one of the hardest things to achieve. I am sure William was there for you and that he has been so proud of you and Mark.
Jo xx and big hugs.

ditto what Jo says Maggy can't imagine how you are feeling, must be tough, does not even come close to what you and your son are going through.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
It's heartening to know there are still some people around who actually give damn. Girl from our pharmacy phoned to ask if Mt T urgently needed the tablets he had requested, if not she would drop them off on her way home. While she was on the phone I asked if she would bring a bottle of cough mixture with her and the tablets and I would pay her when she got here. I didn't have change and offered a tenner (didn't want change), she refused, said she would get it another time. How kind and caring was that?

The first Christmas is the hardest, we've always the hardest.
In 2020 I did the dinner for my dad and myself, I did one toast "Mum".
For us the hardest part was that we were in lockdown and couldn't be with my sister.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
My 21 month old Merrell walking boots (Moab II) had a split heel - unfortunately, the guarantee is only for a year.
I contacted Merrell Customer Services, pointing out I was a long standing repeat customer (I have previously had a pair of their walking sandals & walking boots, both pairs lasting over five years), and currently have a pair of their walking shoes and boots (both bought 21 months ago).
After a bit of to and fro email, they have kindly offered a £130 credit on a website order, so I’ve ordered a new pair of Forestbound Mid Waterproof walking boots.
It just goes to show - it never hurts to ask…

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Was challenged to see if I can do 10 sit ups the other day. Bare in mind I am still 22 stone (lost 9 stone now) and 54 years old, I managed 10 unsupported sit ups and could have done more so even though I am still massively overweight some of my core strength from years of training still exists and can be built on
Also took delivery of a spin bike from Amazon and do 2 lots of 4 miles a day each takes 15 mins so this will really help now.
