Re: geocities no longer works after STB reboot

http://www.geocities.com/ doesn't work for me either here on vm (AL7 - welwyn garden city)

Something is screwed with VM. Looks like an internal routing issue. It'll be affecting more than geocities unfortunately.

Re: geocities no longer works after STB reboot

Exact same issue (blank page on geocities)...just loops around timing out on:

osr-hsd-gw3-ge147.network.virginmedia.net (62.30.249.46)
osr-hsd-bus1-ge21.network.virginmedia.net (194.117.136.5)

(This is on a website I administrate though same for geocities as well)

Cannot connect to certain websites, just loops around those two nodes...in the end...the browser(Firefox 3) gives a time out error.

Hmmm...a good chance this is related to the email issue that has been posted on the virgin media status page...hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Re: geocities no longer works after STB reboot

I'm getting the same result as Warzone with tracert looping round and giving up after 30 hops!

Strange that this only affects geocities user sites. I can access the admin site and it shows that all my site files are still there.

Same thing here. For the last couple of days been getting a blank page for Geocities using Firefox and a 404 error for Geocities using Internet Explorer. VirginMedia ISP, Guildford area. Ping and Tracert results here:

Like puzzledDave I AM able to access my Geocities FileManger and I have even managed to update some files. It's just that I cannot view the website or indeed any Geocities websites. I have written to VirginMedia twice via their website and also written to Geocities, though it really looks as though this is a VirginMedia problem. Hope it gets sorted soon. Cheri.

Awesome, looks like it was related to that national email issue posted on the virgin media status as it has now gone.

Re: geocities no longer works after STB reboot

I don't know if it's the same problem but I can only sporadically log into UK Geocities.

If I go to the usual login page: http://uk.geocities.yahoo.com/

...sometimes I can log in and open File Manager, but sometimes it has a "start building now" message (even though I have a long established site).

In File Manager I managed to upload a few files today, but now it seems on the rare occasion File Manager actually opens, I can't upload any files ("cannot find server") or File Manager won't open at all.

I see from looking at Yahoo Tech forums I'm not the only one from the UK experiencing trouble.

Is this still a VM issue? If so, it's not fixed for me
