Sherlock - series 2

So, who else watched the first part of the second series tonight?

I thought it was an excellent start

Also, the woman playing Adler (Lara Pulver - True Blood, Spooks, & the crappy Robin Hood TV series) was bloody gorgeous.

I enjoyed it, and loved the twists and turns - especially the last couple.....

After a wait of nearly 18 months for fans, Sherlock returned to BBC1 and dominated ITV1 on New Year's Day, with nearly 9 million viewers.

The first episode of the new three-part series may have attracted some headlines for Irene Adler actress Lara Pulver's (Spooks, True Blood, Robin Hood) pre-watershed nudity, but this did not appear to be a turn-off for viewers, with an average of 8.8 million tuning in over 90 minutes from 8.10pm, a 30% audience share.

Sherlock was up on the best overnight figure for the first series, the 7.5 million who watched the opening episode in July 2010.
Wow very impressive indeed for a fine follow up series to the first series.

Nah! Didn't like the first series and I'm not liking this second series much either.

Re: Sherlock - series 2

Can't wait to see how they handle the Baskerville story

Best thing on TV by far.

Re: Sherlock - series 2

I was a huge fan of the first episode, I love the chemistry the actors can portray. However, really didn't like Baskervilles. I'm biased because I'm from the Westcountry and I know that none of those characters had a Devon rural accent. One was from Somerset, another from Scotland and the rest sounded more like the counties around London. It ruined it for me. Plus the storyline was much too obvious from the very start

Re: Sherlock - series 2

Anyone else notice the presence of two actors who have both played "Little John" in different versions of "Robin Hood"?

"Dr Franklyn" was played by Clive Mantle, who was in "Robin of Sherwood".

"Gary" (the pub landlord) was played by Gordon Kennedy, who was in the more recent BBC version of "Robin Hood" (the fairly crap one).
