To be honest your post comes across as snarky, not everyone is tech minded like us.
Some people don't even know what a HDMI cable or socket is.

Wasn't Beaker (the OP) a lab assistant in the Muppets? He will have some tech expertise, even if everything he touched exploded! ( hence his caution with a hdmi lead? )

Re: New TV
That's the standard HDMI lead. Modern sets usually have several HDMI inputs so plug that into the first free one. (#1) You might need to select that as the input using the remote. There'll be a button marked "input", "source" or with a TV screen symbol some times with an arrow pointing into it.

Re: New TV
https://www.virginmedia.com/help/vir...how-to-install
Go to the "Change an existing Virgin TV box to a Virgin TV TiVo box" and clink on the downward arrow on the right.
Quote:
Step 6 - Connecting your TiVo box to your TV
Connecting to an HD TV
Connect the HDMI cable provided into the HDMI port on the back of your TiVo box. Connect the other end to a free HDMI port on your TV. (the example on the left below, in blue)
|
Quote:
Step 8 - Turn on your TV
Turn your TV on and using your TV remote (not TiVo remote) select the “Input”, “AV” or “Source” button.
Once selected, you'll see a menu similar to the example shown. Select the input that relates to the port used; HDMI or SCART. For example, if you used HDMI 1 port on your TV, select the HDMI 1 option on the menu screen.

Hope this helps

Re: New TV
All your posts have helped me, plus a look at the web. I thank you all.
It seems easy enough, the sockets etc are on the face of the back and not underneath.
