Re: Snow in your area
i used to work with an aussie in @1995 who had never seen snow in real life. I remeber it snowed one day and he was out in the middle of baker street running standing in a snowfall, calling his mates in oz and south africa on his mobile, grinning from ear to ear. Made me think about what we take for granted. I think he was 30 at the time

Re: Snow in your area
When I lived up't North between Oldham and Halifax i wasn't a question of "if" it would snow, it was a question of how deep will the snow be and will it be gone before Easter !

Re: Snow in your area
The article is a little misleading though.

Sky News forecasters, however, say that although Britain will see snow it is unlikely to hit inland.

It's just the coastal areas that are expecting it....

I doubt we will see it here. We rarely see snow.

Re: Snow in your area
Funnily enough... when I checked the weather this morning ( www.accuweather.com) it was forecasting snow fri/sat/etc and when I checked at lunchtime there was no suggestion of any.
Just had the Met Office "severe weather warning" in and it gives us (Midlands) 40% chance of snow from thurs-sat.

Re: Snow in your area
Yeah it is certainly going to get colder throughout the rest of the week.
Possibly reaching -3 celcius so be careful of ice !
The cold winds are coming down from the arctic with snow definately possible.
I'm sure however that at onepoint we will have the very annoying (especially when waiting for the bus at an un-sheltered bus stop), freezing cold rain and wind which is just awful.

What are you, Michael Fish?
Go on, try running that back through your head in his voice ...
We already had a taste of cold weather up here. Last Friday night got down to -4, although we're quite sheltered and they had -6 down the road. It stayed surprisingly mild last night even though the skies cleared for part of it.
Time to lob a few more coals on the fire!

Re: Snow in your area
I remember back in the days when it used to snow proper snow.
There would be times when we couldnt get to school or actually had snow that blocked half the windows up.
Please bring back this quality snow mr Snow and leave the slush behind.
