New mobile recommendations

My two year contract with VM ends tomorrow, and I want to upgrade my phone. I currently have a SE Experia 8 and want to stay with VM.

I'm a bit of a numpty when it comes to mobiles, so I'm hoping you nice people on here can give me some recommendations. I would like an Android phone on a pay monthly tariff of between £10 and £15 pounds per month. It must have "start and end call" buttons as I can't get on with the slider on the X8. Also a larger display would be nice, as well as email facilities.

Thanks.

Re: New mobile recommendations

I personally would wait a few months for the tariffs on the xperia Z to drop or for the SGS 4 comes to VM and the III drops in price

Re: New mobile recommendations

I bought a SIM free Nexus 4 from Google and pay Virgin £7.99 for 1G, unlimited texts and 300 mins. Virgin couldn't have been more helpful. Micro SIM arrived next day and I just had to activate it over the phone to keep my number.
BTW This was sorted via a UK call centre.

My mate has a Nexus 4 (simfree) and is well happy with it.

Suits all his needs he says and there is no bloatware.

Reviews say camera isn't as good as the S3/S4 bit depends what you're going to use it for

He gets latest Android updates unlike us on VM with a Galaxy S2 still waiting for Jelly Bean to arrive.

You could register for the S4 but you usually have to pay for the handset upfront where I think the Nexus 4 handset is free depending on what tariff you choose

Yes, thanks, I got one of those too. Probably will have lots of questions as I'm a bit of a numpty with mobiles, but on my my previous phone, it allowed me to use a ringtone from my music collection which I like. I have looked on this phone but it does not seem to have that option, and the ringtones available are not that good. Can you help please?
