VM Catch Up - What Package Tiers?

Should Discovery Channel (the main one) Catch-Up be available to all tiers that have Discovery Channel on VM?

I'm fairly sure I used to be able to watch the catch-up for this channel, and I still can for the other Discovery-owned channels, just not the main one when I tried tonight. Getting "Upgrade To Watch".

Re: VM Catch Up - What Package Tiers?

According to the information that I have (which might be out of date), SD Discovery content should be available to everybody. HD content is available in the top tier only.

There are many cases where the VOD content requires a higher package than the broadcast channel.

Most of the Catch-up content, if not all (it seems like it), is now HD-only. I can access other Discovery-owned channels Catch-up content, and it's only in HD. It's jist the main Discovery Channel...and I'm 90% sure I was able to very recently.

I am aware of that, but it's not an option here.

My info dates from May, so it hasn't changed very recently. Possibly you were watching SD content previously and it has now gone.

This is an recurring issue with VM, as ufortunately the technical team at VM keep making the same mistake over and over again.

VM has gradually been making the Catch Up content for all their channels HD, either from SD to HD, or from a mix of SD and HD, to HD only. In doing this they keep locking lower tier customers out.

It's happen every single time... I experienced the issue when they upgraded Comedy Central, MTV, FOX, TLC & various other channels. It has happened with some of the Sky channels too.

The only way to get it fixed seems to be repeatedly raising the issue in VM's customer forum or asking spiderplant to kindly step in and raise a ticket for it.

Re: VM Catch Up - What Package Tiers?

I appreciate the lengthy post newapollo, however I had all those channels (and most of their associated Catch-up) on my tier before the freebie and I'm almost certain I had access to Discovery Channel Catch-up in HD well after the freebie was withdrawn.
