Re: Rolling contract

It is quite possible that there are different offers available depending where you are in your contract

But the new customer offers are only available to new customers.

Re: Rolling contract

A customer of ntl and VM for 18+ years. Always paid bills on time. Rarely phoned up. Out of contract.
Got through to retentions to ask for currently advertised VIP for £79 per month for 12 months.
After much argy bargy the best offered was £89 for 6 months.
So much for loyalty.
I am seriously looking now at Sky and others.

Everyone goes onto a rolling contract after the initial minimum period. The only problem is the cost keeps creeping up.

You've mentioned being loyal yet are now threatening to move to the rivals. That's not being loyal, that's looking for a deal. The same will happen with Sky once you are out of contract. The VIP package is £125pm, I currently pay £99pm for VIP yet your moaning that you are getting it cheaper than those two prices.

What’s wrong with that? That’s well below the normal price of £125.

Re: Rolling contract

Had the VIP package not been offered to new customers for 79 pounds, it would not have entered my mind to ask for a similar deal. But it has been. As already stated, I feel loyalty should be recognised and rewarded. My experience is that it is not.

It's a deal to draw new customers into the business. I'm sorry but you can't just expect to get stuff cheaper than the going rate because of this. You've been offered a saving of £216 over what you should be paying. It has been recognised and rewarded, but you're still not happy. The exact same thing will happen at Sky after your new customer discount so unless you're willing to swap and change every year, I'm not sure what you'd be achieving. £89 for something that costs £125 is one hell of a saving.

Totally agree! Plus, I don't rate Sky anyway. I still think they are rip-off merchants and you get better value overall with Virgin Media.

If cost is all that matters, there's always Talk Talk!

How can you possibly come to that conclusion each customer has different requirements.

Re: Rolling contract

The only reasons l stick with virgin is bb and not wanting more cables around the house. Honestly as far a TV goes Freeview and more so Netflix covers my needs. Need to look more closely as BB deals was quite happy when virgin was running at 30 meg or so!
