WiFi E-Mail

So I got this the other day ....

We’re changing your WiFi Hub settings so you can enjoy faster speeds

Hello Paul,

The Intelligent WiFi technology in your Hub has spotted that by making a small change to your Hub settings, you could enjoy faster speeds to any 5G-ready devices at home.

Changing your Hub settings is nice and simple – we’ll do it for you remotely, so there’s nothing you need to do.
Ummmmmmmmm.

I run in permanent modem mode, so ... wtf ?

Re: WiFi E-Mail

presumably they can only do it by sending a firmware update down with new pre-configured settings and included in that and for it to work will be defaulting the shub to router mode. When that happens we'll need to sign in and switch it back to modem mode. All my shubs have always been in modem mode from day 1 and never been in router modem so they can't send me an email saying they can see that my settings can be improved because router mode and wifi have never been used for them to be able to see what they are.

Re: WiFi E-Mail

No idea if I had an email or not

Usually anything from VM that pings into the inbox gets deleted after a cursory glance . . offers for a new iPhone 13, or informing me I've been given 14 extra channels of TV shite for free this month, guff about dancing the night away with 300 18yr old pillocks . . . and occasionally one telling me that I (no, the daughter) got through 3 trillion Gig of data last month
