Good deal on BT Sports for Plusnet customers:
http://www.plus.net/tv/btsport/
"Plusnet broadband customers can now get BT Sport via the Sky Digitial Satellite Platform, so all you'll need is a Sky Satellite receiver box and dish. For just £5.99 a month you'll get BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN - and all three channels are also available in HD for an extra £1.50 a month."

SKY SPORTS WINS MORE PGA TOUR GOLF
http://corporate.sky.com/media/press..._pga_tour_golf
Quote:
From this year the PGA TOUR’s innovative Hub technology will provide additional digital content during TOUR events. Live tournament coverage including featured holes and groups with European players, and highlights packages will be made available on the new “PGA TOUR Match Centre” within the Sky Sports iPad app, skysports.com, Sky Sports News and via the red button interactive facility.
From the 2014 FedExCup Playoffs Sky Sports will increase the amount of U.S. PGA TOUR events broadcast from on-site each year from five to thirty-one. More on-site outside broadcasts will enable Sky Sports to offer viewers more analysis of European players during tournaments, as well as showcase new Talent and on-screen innovation.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
Sky Sports agrees new seven-year deal to show live PGA Tour events until 2022.
http://www1.skysports.com/news/12232...nts-until-2022
Lets hope this went out to proper tendering because if it has not then its just another example of Sky being too close to sports bodies and thus having too much pervasive and close influence with them.

I hope that is based on some sort of fact, and not just another example of a scurrilous rumour you are starting.
See how i did that. Making an accusation without any substance. You taught me well Den master

l am just putting both sides to a story and if it has gone out to a proper tendering that all is fair in love and in war but if not then l think questions need to be asked as have been with regards to the rugby league deal by certain chairman.
It does seem strange that ever since BT announced the Champions league deal then Sky in the space of the month have announced 7 new sports rights deals and l do hope that the course of rights going out to proper tendering is being done in the right and correct manner and hope that some cosy deals are not being done here without the proper due processes taking place.

I think you'll find Den if you read the article again that the Super League put the deal to the club owners to vote , obviously the majority accepted.
These deals certainly strengthen Sky Sports for the foreseeable future , apart from the EPL rights I'm not sure there's much of interest for BT to go after.

Yes l read the article right through but just because the majority agreed does not mean the right tendering processes were followed MM because as we have already seen in many sports is that we have people in the higher echeleons who are too close to the head honcho's in Sky's top brass and you know that as well as l do.
l am not having a go at Sky but l am questioning whether the right processes are being followed as there is nothing wrong in asking the question.

Time will tell Den, but I suspect if Sky had done anything wrong, BT would already be up in arms about it.

Yes agreed. BT are very quick to jump up and down normally waving their arms like Dr Magnus Pyke... (showing my middle age!)

Barwick on the Rugby League deal:
"After hearing a comprehensive presentation on all aspects of the new deal, the clubs themselves voted to vote on the proposal.
"Most of the clubs recognised that the best result for the immediate future of the game was in front of them, as indeed the significant majority that voted in favour of the offer from Sky Sports underlined. The other clubs were able to vote against it as they saw fit, which is appropriate.
"What I feel isn't appropriate, though, is the tone and content of the criticism by some of the Super League clubs who have their own reservations about the deal.
"This broadcast contract is the biggest in rugby league history and actually offers Super League clubs an uplift of 63 per cent in annual distributions.
"It is also the latest in a number of upbeat initiatives we have enjoyed in recent months: with such a strong wind in our sails, I will not stand by and allow the sport to be blown off-course."

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
I remember when scottish football had an offer from sky, which they rejected for setanta. They then rued that, when setanta folded, and were begging sky to take them.
Better a bird in the hand then looking for a bush (or something like that )

There is a big world of difference comparing Setanta with BT Sports though as they will never go bust.
