True, but it mainly doesn't impact upon the fans enjoyment of the game.

The increasing use of VAR in football is akin to making Rally drivers stick to their own side of the road . .

Perhaps too many football fans are stuck in the dark ages when it comes to new technology as yes VAR needs to be refined but its here to stay despite some football fans shouting and sreaming till they are blue in the face.

Here to stay, I guess so, but making the game better? . . . subjective at best

But you can bet your bottom dollar that when a VAR decision goes their way VAR will suddenly be the supporters favourite friend.

oh yes, such is the way of the supporter

One would hope that Managers and Owners wouldn't be so fickle though if a VAR decided goal (or no goal) relegates them from the land of milk and honey money

So much for Rashford the penalty taker.

Re: Season 2019/2020 Football

A less than enjoyable game. Roy Hodgson sure knows how to set up a side to spoil. United didn't have the nous to overcome it. 20+ shots but only 3 on target is poor. Apart from the 18 fouls Palace committed I'm sure their players had instructions to feign injury every time they took a hard tackle. The only player to come off injured was a United player and 5 minutes extra time in both halves showed just how much time Palace where wasting. It completely broke up the rhythm of the game. Their physio must have covered more distance than anyone else on the pitch. At least the sun was shining.

The question is do you think United are going forward as a side?.

Re: Season 2019/2020 Football

Too much sometimes. Going forward without watching the back door cost them both goals today. Still don't rate Lingard and Martial is up and down. Youngster Daniel James had a very good game, scored a great goal and in most people's opinion was very harshly booked for diving. He is just so fast even the refs eyes can't keep up.

Personally l think its probably between United , Arsenal and Chelsea for the 4th spot and that is being unbiased.

I think they'll all be struggling to reach the dizzy heights of 4th . . and Utd are a spent force, no matter how much the media fawn over them

The question is will their signings make a discernable difference this season in terms of points garnered.

Now that is something that can't be guessed at, and I have a feeling some football 'agents' will already be busy bigging up some of their 'clients' in order to make them the new 'record breaking signing' during the next transfer window

Re: Season 2019/2020 Football

Sadly Bury were expelled from the Football League last night and my heart goes out to all those Bury supporters out there who have been shamefully let down by those who supposedly have the know how to run a football league club.

Re: Season 2019/2020 Football

The trouble is that football clubs are a business, and the FL/FA don't have any say in that business being sold/bought . . or who to and why.

The FA/FL can only say sod off you're not financially capable of playing a full season in one of our leagues.

Having said that, the 'fit and proper persons' check has been shown to be a farce on many occasions in the not too distant past
