Here's another that Mrs Osem found very helpful during her anatomy, pathology and physiology studies:

Re: Good Medical site!
My friends wife will like these websites then as she is constantly trying to diagnose herself with all sorts of life threatening conditions.

Re: Good Medical site!
The trouble with these sites is you get people like me who relate to problems they are having by doing a self diagnose therefore causing unnecessary fear and worry, I know I did that when they discovered a bowel polyp, I had myself with cancer and dead within a year, so I personally avoid these sites as I am a bit of a worrier by nature anyway ...

Currently going through cancer tests for bowel and bladder.
I avoid sites like that, don't want to get too worried.

Re: Good Medical site!
Heath websites are like facts on Wikipedia, 80% are true and the other 30% are crap

My GP actually considers the main NHS site a bit (to use his phrase) of a double edged sword because while it helps people cure themselves it also tells them the right symptoms.

Re: Good Medical site!
The main problem is some minor aliments, could have a similar symptom to a major illness, so you end up fearing the worst.
