Disgraceful if he does get away with it, I assume Ferrari or Kobayoshi can appeal?

No idea on that one. Even David Croft and Martin Brundle said it looks like he did but they also said they need to see it from another view but the view we all saw on the replay made it clear he overtook under a yellow flag

Re: Formula 1 2012 season
Many sites reporting it was Yellow/Red flags and lights which were denoting track condition and not solid yellow. Even Ferrari have said the same..

Stewards have said the same. Only yellow/red flag i saw before he tried the overtake, then it was green and then it went yellow flag again.

Re: Formula 1 2012 season
You've got to remember that the stewards will have a computer plan of the circuit which shows them live and also re-viewable all cars and all lights/flags at any time during the race. I believe any indiscretions are automatically flagged on this system which will including speeding in the pit lane, false starts..etc...

Re: Formula 1 2012 season
Congrats to Vettel.
Feel bad for Hamilton this year. His luck has been just been non-existent paired with a car with serious reliability issues. Hamilton gets hit and it ends his race, Seb takes a hit and he somehow still walks away world champion, says it all really.
If Hamilton had Vettel's luck this year and even a half reliable car, he'd have ran away with this title.
Can't deny it made for one of the best season's I've seen.
Onto 2013

Re: Formula 1 2012 season
Yes indeed, some great discussions although I do apologise for coming over as a grumpy old git yesterday. Certainly one of the best seasons I have known for a long time, here's hoping that 2013 will be just as good.

Re: Formula 1 2012 season
I've never been a Lewis Hamilton fan and I don't like Alonso either so I'm glad and happy for Vettel. I just hope Button is challenging for the title next year, would love to see him win it again.
I enjoyed the race yesterday - extremely tense through out as I was cheering for Vettel and was praying his car didnt break down!

With Vettel's luck? Don't be daft. He's the only guy that could spin, end up backwards and manage to avoid getting steamrolled by Roman Grosjean.

Re: Formula 1 2012 season
I'm astounded he still has a drive next year Grosjean. Had Schumacher not retired again, do we think Hamilton would have signed a new deal with McLaren?
