When will we see another speed upgrade?
So 350mbit has been available on VM Business since April 2017. I had it on residential from August 17.
We're now 18 months past the initial release, it seems like most areas are now on 24 DS channels and 4 US.
What next? In my experience with VM we'd be starting to hear about the next upgrade by now, but we've heard nothing on higher tiers or DOCSIS3.1 in ages.
Meanwhile BT are starting to roll out further with G.Fast and FTTP, and offering 330/50 on that...

Re: When will we see another speed upgrade?
My guess sometime in 2019 for a free speed bump and docsis 3.1 modems being trialed.

Re: When will we see another speed upgrade?
24 DS channels? Only 8 here, and they reckon we're fully upgraded.

Are you on a SHUB2?
That can only lock 8 channels.

Using the SH3 here and i don't have any issues with wifi.
Granted most devices are hardwired here but there are mobiles, chromecast, amazon echo's,tablets and a couple of wifi flash drives that all use wifi and no issues.

Re: When will we see another speed upgrade?
Right, so most areas are upgraded, but the sh2 is crap.
I wouldn't know about sh3 WiFi as I have only ever used it in modem mode, I use ubiquiti kit for WiFi.
In any case, this still implies most of the upgrade rollout is done.

Re: When will we see another speed upgrade?
What would you want to do that 350mbit doesn't allow you to do? Speed upgrades have become a bit irrelevant (an upload increase would be nice though - but guess it doesn't grab the headlines...)

Re: When will we see another speed upgrade?
There's no driver for a speed uplift at the moment.

OMG !!! I actually agree with something you said for a change lol
The speed wars with BT etc was defo getting silly for a while and for sure it was a case of 'mine is bigger than yours'
Now that we have 350 from VM and some people can get 300 Via FTTP/G-Fast etc then i don't think we are going to see massive increases in download speeds on a national level for a while yet.The VM network as it stands is capable of higher speeds anyway but as you said in your post i don't think they are required yet anyway. 350.300Mbps is more than ample even for a busy household with multiple users online same time.Higher upload speeds would be handy though

Re: When will we see another speed upgrade?
With just the two of us our legacy 70Mbs is quite adequate. Much faster and I'd have to upgrade the whole house network to make use, currently 10/100T. Installed when we had the original NTL 256Kbs service through the STB.
If we want an HD film I just download it during the day, only takes a few minutes, and the Media server on the PC makes it available to the smart TV as needed.
If we had a free upgrade to 100Mbs I'd be happy with that.
