The last time Virgin Media UK sign an deal with Sky UK (May 2014)
Any new channels did now launch until July 15th 2014.
https://mediaboyblog.blogspot.com/20...nels.html#more
As part of that 2014 deal we got Sky Sports 5, Sky Sports 5 HD, Sky Sports News HD, Sky News HD plus Sky ask Virgin Media to move channels about on the EPG.
---------- Post added at 11:39 ---------- Previous post was at 11:38 ----------
So if the Sky deal is up this year we won't see anything until after June.

July sounds about right to me.
Hopefully, we will get all the UHD material Sky put out with this deal, as well as Sky Atlantic. Still no firm news on any of this yet, apart from that announcement when the BT deal was announced. So it's still fingers crossed time!

That's a matter for VM and Sky, but I don't see why that would be the case, to be honest. Unless, of course, the two companies have reached an impasse, which appears unlikely from what I have read. Relationships have improved massively from the bad old days of 2009.

So we know a contract was signed but don’t know the exact end date, or if any extension applies and indeed whether any extension would be announced. Sounds like we can just make it up as we please.
I’ll take August in time for the football season.

Re: Channels switched to MPEG4
Has anyone else seen that Virgin Media has got Premier Sports 2 HD on it own on CO47
When the other HD Streams has got up to 7 HD Channels on the steams bar CO75 and CO76 they only got 6. (Due to ZEE HD and Living Foodz HD closing)

It's been like this for ages. At the most it's only had two ot three channels to keep it company but they've been away for a month or so (well it feels like it).

I wonder if the split up of Liberty Global's various assets might be having a knock on effect on VM as the tech (and expertise) will be split between different companies.

Re: Channels switched to MPEG4
The following channels are no longer broadcasting in MPEG2:
100. Virgin Media Highlights (Virgin Media Showcase)
998. Virgin Media Highlights (Virgin Media What's On)

Re: Channels switched to MPEG4
Source: DigitalBitRate).
Channels moved to new CO's:
CO 46 is also on CO 47
CO 47 moves to CO 72
CO 72 moves to CO 60
VIEWERS WILL NOT NEED TO DO ANYTHING.

These happened at the beginning of the week.
As someone (sorry I forget who) told me previously, the COs get moved about all the time, and are often limited to one region on the network. The COs are also different numbers in different regions. These CO changes may only apply to region that DBR gets its readings from. Since I got told this I only look out for Tsid changes as these don't vary by region as I understand it.

Re: Channels switched to MPEG4
Noticing a worse PQ lately, presumably as a result of Mpeg4 compression?
