Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

We have seen rumours on the web that BT may bid for the full rights to Scottish football when they are up (SPFL are up in 2020).

BT and Sky part own the rights to the SPFL right now.
BBC and Sky part own the right to the Scottish Cup right now (Two games on Sky and One game on BBC up to Semi Final).

And someone on here thinks football streaming is the future.
There is no evidence that streaming it is the reason for the added costs! You have to face it that sport tends to command a high price, be it broadcast, streamed or on demand.

And that is why no streaming company be it Amazon or anybody else will ever buy the Premier League rights.

Well, that seems to be your mantra, Den old chap, but given the Sky have done it and BT have done it, I don't think that your argument stacks up, because Amazon have pockets that are bigger than both of them combined.

I have already explained how a different marketing strategy could release additional revenue as well.

Its not my mantra as its basic financial reality which you don't seem to have grasped yet when it comes to the Premier League rights.

Just as we can all predict yours. Amazon may want to get involved in streaming sport, but the sheer numbers involved for the Premier League make the streaming model difficult.

Don't forget sky used it as part of a sports package as did BT.

Liverpool in the CL final

Lets see if BT put it in 4K on Youtube like they did last year

At the moment, streaming alone is not a viable option as the UK’s digital infrastructure is not yet developed throughout the country. So it would have to be a mix in the first instance.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

Eleven Sports is expected to bid for the remaining two Premiership packages and will bring us La Liga by streaming and/or a new digital broadcast channel.
