Re: What do folk think of O2 mobile

As soon as my ASDA mobile credit is low I will ask for a PAC number and transfer my number to O2

Re: What do folk think of O2 mobile

Never had an issue with O2 the time I was with them on PAYG, still have the SIM in a cheap Nokia as a spare. Cannot comment from a data point of view as I have been using EE as my pain phone for the last god knows how many years now.

I suppose it all depends where you are in the country as some areas do vary.

Yeah hubby has used their pay monthly set up for over a decade now so my numbers ported over onto their network, too.

These days they give a good second and third line discount system but on PAYG / pre pay they do have some annoying automation issues - they keep you listening to automated messages forever.

They have also reduced their number of bolt - ons quite drastically and calls to them are not usually free (though they will refund you the cost if it is their fault).

Their 4G is the slowest of any major provider and their data rates on PAYG are reasonable dependent on your tariff - most work out at like a pound a day for unlimited use.

Even if the areas where you would expect great speeds, o2 is way off. They are slower than EE but the cost is low on PAYG.

Moving to contract would be far better with o2 in general.

Re: What do folk think of O2 mobile

Was on O2 for years with a half decent PAYG phone, no issues at all. I didn't (still don't) bother with massive data etc, so have no idea about that side of stuff.

When I needed a new phone their prices were higher than Tesco, so I opted for a Tesco phone and basic contract deal instead (same network).

Yeah that is another good thing that o2 does offer - they do have a good offer system with priority - Amex do the same but that is for very high end merchandise etc. With o2 it is for the more "median / average wage" so their benefits are a lot handier than some. (Means adjusted).

I Cant speak for them myself as im on EE and have been since 2002 (formally Orange) but my brother and sister both use O2 and apart from not being able to get a signal in some parts of the Welsh valleys like Cymer they find it great.

Didn’t realise you wanted PAYG, I have a Tesco contract for £7.50 per month
