People will revolt against stupid rules.

They may revolt against rules they are too stupid to understand, yes. And the politicians who told them not to trust experts for the best part of a decade.
I'm as much for a revolution against the British ruling classes as the next ordinary bloke. The good news is though that it's unlikely that there will be a sufficiently watered down revolution for the Conservatives to survive it.

I know it wasn’t your intent. However someone may consider something “stupid” because they lack the ability to fully understand or comprehend it. In many cases, especially if reliant on our esteemed tabloid press, people may lack the ability to understand Covid guidance. Thus they need legislation. Therefore could not be trusted to follow guidelines as they do in Sweden.
Some may consider being the fifth (sixth, seventh? I lose track) biggest economy in the world and being unable to afford an adequate Covid response “stupid”.

On that, we have an accord.

We can afford an adequate Covid response - witness the £12bn track and trace. Unfortunately, we don't seem to have the ability to do so.

You have been listening too much to Nostradamus.

The Netflix Nostradamus hasn't been saying much of late. Unsurprising given the diminishing capital of herd immunity.

Looks like another full lockdown on Wednesday. https://twitter.com/Steven_Swinford/...94630906503171

Boris Johnson is preparing to introduce national lockdown restrictions from next Wednesday
The restrictions could see everything except nurseries, schools, universities and non-essential shops close until Dec 1

Re: Coronavirus
Not really surprising. That said - without educational settings it's almost meaningless as the greatest growth is in 11-24 year olds according to ONS.

Extending half term for another week was suggested but rebuffed which is a shame.

Bread and butter. The entire idea of 8/9 weeks off at the summer and 190 days school dates back to getting kids to go out and work in agriculture.
We may well still be in this position next year at this time.

Re: Coronavirus
Whatever you think of the lockdown it's pretty stupid that the Tories have been constantly attacking Labour in Wales for doing their own version and saying only yesterday that there were no plans to close non-essential jobs.
