Sky Broadband
I am looking to leave my ISP due to mid-contract price increases and the clause that allows them to do this and not for it to be a breach of contract, thereby not allowing you to leave without penalty if there is a mid-contract price increase.
My favoured ISP to move to is Sky so therefore I was wondering what the situation is with Sky regarding this issue, and also whether the good reputation which Sky seems to have is the case based on user's experiences as Sky seems to come towards the top of listener positive feedback charts and similarly never seem to get a mention when most complained about ISPs get listed.
And where is the CS based? Is it all in the UK or has any/all of it been offshored?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sky have customer contact centres in Leeds, Newcastle, Stockport, Manchester and elsewhere. Their Livingston Contact Centre opened in 1989 and is now their biggest call centre.

Re: Sky Broadband
Been with sky a few years now and when I've had to call customer services they've been UK based. Though I have to say I've not had many reasons to call technical support.
One thing about Sky is they will always match the new customer price at the end of your contract - all I do is call up and ask and they may even surprise you with an even lower price.
Their internet has been OK but looking at the data from my SamKnows box it's been a steady downwards trend over the last three years when it comes to speed.

Re: Sky Broadband
Thank you for both replies.
And what is Sky's current behaviour regarding annual price increases?

Apparently DNS issue, changing DNS appears to work.

Can you change the DNS on a Sky router?

Re: Sky Broadband
To what extent do Sky actually manage the network? I assumed the level of uptime would be the same irrespective of which provider uses the Openreach line?

SKY uses LLU so has their own equipment at the exchange. Openreach would only be responsibe for exchange - property.

Re: Sky Broadband
Assuming it is also DNS related, I would think they manage their own DNS servers.
