Dynamode BR6004W-G2M Problem - Virgin Media

Wondering if anyone can help:

Just bought the above wireless router. On Virgin Cable in Sheffield S8. Can access all websites (although speed is slow - but another problem) when directly connected to the cable modem via a CAT5 cable. However, when I use the router, I can access some websites, but not others. For the ones I can't get on, the browser doesn't connect and gives a DNS error. It is always the same websites that return the error, but I'm able to get on them when not going through the router. I've tried disabling the firewall for a minute and trying again, but that has no effect (have Zonealarm). Has anyone experienced this problem? I'm no expert, but would count myself reasonably competent and it seems as if all the router settings are ok - i.e. the DNS servers are right etc. Will post any details anyone thinks might be relevant.

Help gratefully accepted!
