VM need to start being really careful when it comes to their website imo!
If they don't, they're going to have the ASA on their backs for false/misleading advertising!

l think you are bound to get mistakes here and there and one suspects the others are no better either.

Probably, but announcing a carriage deal with Bt Sport and offering Sky Sports 1 + 2 hd for free in the xl pack are pretty big mistakes. Is it really possible that a company like Virgin Media can employ people who's knowledge of the matter is so poor that they could actually make mistakes like this without thinking to themselves "hang on, that can't be right" and checking it first?

No mistakes would be the preferable option but maybe just maybe there is no smoke without fire Andy as they always say.

They might do sports in HD free on XL (ie using the ESPN savings to cover the extra £7 charge) if customer takes Sports but they wouldn't include all Sky sports and 1&2 in HD within XL without losing a lot of money or increasing the cost considerably.

I would take this (if true) as a sign that BT sports on Virgin is going to cost £12 or £15 or more extra.

Flashman is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

Having registered interest with BT to see what they were doing with the sports. Just got a call from BT call centre and said I was seeing how things develop. They then said it would only be available on BT and sky, and she specifically said it wasn't available on virgins. Not sure if she said wasn't or wouldn't be available, but did single out virgin specifically.

A BT spokesperson would say that they are trying to get customers to switch to them.

They have said for a few weeks now that they are mainly using BT Sports to increase the Broadband and triple pay customers. IIRC there are quotes posted previously in this thread.

We have now had a 3rd mistake - Universal HD advertised on the 'on demand' adverts in error...

Mistakes happen, yes. But when they roll out 3 mistakes in near succession it makes them look like a shower of sh1te!
