It does require a broadband connection, how do you think the service is delivered? It has an upstream and downstream service to make the ondemand useable and the tv is delivered IPTV.

To clarify what I mean you don't need a seperate broadband subscription to access on demand or catch up on Virgin Media. People without the internet at home can still watch catch up and on demand from Virgin.

BT still leads pay-TV complaints

BT Vision continues to pick up the highest number of complaints of any UK pay-TV service. According to data released by Ofcom, in the period January to March 2013, the regulator received 0.29 complaints per 1,000 customers. Complaints about the IPTV service remain at six times the industry average.

Complaints were driven by a combination of problems with service provision and billing issues.

Virgin Media’s complaints were in line with the industry average at 0.04 per 1,000 customers

While Sky had the lowest number of complaints – 0.02 per 1,000 customers.

BT are now running TV ads stating virgin media customers will lose ESPN from August and the only place to watch it is with BT or sky (the ad didn't say that but we know its on sky)

If i wasn't wanting to try BT broadband, and getting BT sport free, I suspect I wouldn't have bothered with the channel

1 year from now, I will need to consider options, unless it continues as free.

FSFS has 5 HD channels (same as TV M)
E & EE have 8 HD channels (2 more than M+ & L)
EE+ has at least 44 HD channels included 'free'.

So 3 tuners and more channels on TV Anytime are the only TV benefits of Virgin.

Sky sports collections going up by £3.25 or £3.75 (can't remember which!) from 1st Oct. Movies collection price staying the same. Sorry if this is old news but I just heard it.

I think that l will seriously have to swtich on Sky, asd l can see VM muck there customers about again.

I can never understand why there is so much of a delay from VM when other broadcastors are advertising it.

So that's now £29 or £29.50 per month (if the figures are correct), compared to Sky's price (assuming a maximum 10% increase) of ~£23. Where does the extra £6 come from? As a subscriber to the SS collection, that will certainly make me think about changing to Sky, and I'm sure others may feel the same.
