You really believe that only the Russians have access to this stuff?

Two quotes from articles I really can't be bothered to link to . . because no matter what, obviously Russia did it

research on Novichok had begun in 1987, even as the Soviet Union said it would unilaterally halt all its chemical-weapons programs. It had been developed at the institute and tested in a place called Shikhani, in southeastern Russia, and in the Nukus region of Uzbekistan

Since its independence in 1991, Uzbekistan has been working with the government of the United States to dismantle and decontaminate the sites where the Novichok agents and other chemical weapons were tested and developed.Between 1999 and 2002 the United States Department of Defense dismantled the major research and testing site for Novichok at the Chemical Research Institute in Nukus, under a $6 million Cooperative Threat Reduction program.

Re: New UK-Russia Tensions after Ex-Russian Spy Poisoned in Salisbury

It obviously wasn’t totally destroyed in Russia then was it.

We gave Russia a chance to explain themselves, they chose not to, started coming out with, not issuing ultimatums to a Nuclear State blah blah. That’s not how an innocent party usually responds. They have acted with smug sarcasm.

You know, I almost cried yesterday at that U.N. Security Council meeting last night in New York, that Russia chose to remove all innocence from a quiet little place known as Salisbury, in the U.K. but what was striking was the absolute solidarity shown by all of the other countries. The international community needs to stand firm against Russia.

The Russian Presidential Election is on Saturday, Putin is the only candidate, he cannot fail to win, might as well just call it now.

France didn't.

Anyway maybe it's not Russia who poisoned the Russian who spied against Russia with a Russian-developed and Russian manufactured nerve agent in the same way Russia poisoned another Russian agent but it seems awfully likely it was Russia.

Read in the papers today about the potential motive. Russian election at the weekend. Stir up the World against Russia so that Putin can say that he's the only person who can stand up for Mother Russia and everyone should vote for him.
Let's hope the Russian electorate don't, so we can enjoy better relations with the country without the fear of our own citizens being assassinated here in the UK.

I would like to congratulate Mr Putin on his overwhelming victory in the "election"

Re: New UK-Russia Tensions after Ex-Russian Spy Poisoned in Salisbury

All of Putin's credible opponents either had accidents or are in prison so pretty safe bet who will win the dictatorship sorry election. Putin is fast becoming a menace but while Russia has it's nuclear arsenal there is not a lot we can do and clearly sponsoring an opponent is a non starter. He is a russian problem and only the russians can get rid of him and that's not as unlikely as it once was. This was clearly commited by Russia not sure how anyone can really doubt that but confirming it is very easy and russia knows we can easily confirm it which makes this even more blatent and worrying.
