Re: Train Spotters Corner
I would love to see a train. London Midland one that is arriving at my station. I just normally get the tram in the end.

Re: Train Spotters Corner
I have had this on-line petition(see below) presented to me and quite rightly he has asked to pass it around for signatures to be added.
Please note that the changes proposed by the ORR for the insurance cap on charter delay fines to be unlimited will almost be the final nail in the coffin for Railtours/Charters as we know them!
This is a very serious threat please sign if you can

Thanks Denphone,
It would be a cultural disaster for the ability for our heritage steam and diesel loco's not to be able to be used on the mainline, especially after the massive lengths and expense the owners of those locos have to go to them passed for use on the mainline at all.

Indeed as having gone to several Steam Railways last year its only then that you realise how much work goes into getting these wonderful trains up and running and also what a wonderful job all these volunteers do as well.

HS2 phase two route details announced.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21221828
Quote:
Details of the next phase of the £32bn HS2 high-speed rail network have been unveiled by the government.
The preferred route of phase two running northwards from Birmingham will have five stops at: Manchester; Manchester Airport; Toton in the East Midlands; Sheffield; and Leeds.
Chancellor George Osborne said it was "the engine for growth in the north and the midlands of this country".
Phase one's London-Birmingham link has faced considerable opposition.
