[Merged] BB Speed Upgrades

Just re-booted my modem, speed is 266kb/s

Still a bit slow though, it's more like 250k at the moment.

Pages load up in less than 1 second, god I'm not used to double the speed

Thought I'd add a Poll to this thread - to gather numbers of members who have been upgraded so far.

The net seems slow at times, i hardly ever browse the net any more.

Looks like i've been upgraded. I seem to be downloading at at least 80kbps - its 87.6kbps right now. West Sussex, by the way.

1st 128K took 3635 ms = 36058 Bytes/sec = approx 300 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 3716 ms = 35272 Bytes/sec = approx 293 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 3565 ms = 36766 Bytes/sec = approx 306 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 3695 ms = 35473 Bytes/sec = approx 295 kbits/sec
i've got some nice speeds...

EDIT: Downloading at around 33KB/s on download accelerator (was 29KB/s), bit better, but browsing is much faster.

Mine is running slow, the download speeds keep jumping around 20-30kb/s

Hopefully it gets fixed.

Ive just downloaded an ISO at over 1MB/s
do they have to temp remove the restrictions? Ive just had a taste of the potential of cable broadband

Edited. ok im worried now. I just downloaded a 600meg linux ISO in about a minute.....

That sounds very strange, looks like NTL gave you too much bandwidth. Be happy while it lasts

Woah, download everything as fast as you can, run out to the shops and buy more HDD's

Though Im sure if this is true, we'll hear from many NTL users with little or no service

Could explain why some users bandwith is shot at if this is happening

What is so crappy about it? It was fine until you realised you were getting a free upgrade.

Can't/won't happen-areas are franchise specific, if you can get ntl you can't get Telewest-simple.
