No service in Nottingham NG8 - anyone else?

No service in Nottingham NG8 - anyone else?
I woke up this morning to find out my internet is completely gone. Basford USB is down.
1st call to tech support at 11am, they say its going to be up at 12.30pm, No luck call them again, they then say its going to be 8pm tonight. What a load of crap, so I redail as the guy didnt seem to have a clue, next agent says its 1.30pm
I take it relations between the enginners and call centres is lacking?
Would be nice if I had a solid answer to know where i stood
Isnt NTL in breach of contract after 24 hours of no service without any notification, could anyone clear this up ?

Nope, there is no service level agreement with NTL unless you are on Business Broadband (same with all ISPs, even then it isn't guarunteed that it'll be up, just how long it'll take to repair. You might be able to get some credit out of Customer Services though, so when it comes back up try phoning them.

I will do, i was actually told a year ago from there customer service they only give credit, its its been a set amount of hours. Of couse there customer services are closed right now. What annoys me if the dreadful commications and call centre support, and the fact that when you call them they always give a different answer
Oh well thats life.

I'm back now - it died at 8am exactly and mine popped back into life not long ago. It took out everyone on Basford as far as I can tell - many more areas than just NG8.

You're not going to get any credit for a few hours of outage, it has to be down for at least 24 hours.
These things happen I'm afraid. In the past on ntl I've lost all services thanks to some lovely builders putting a JCB through some fibres.

Probably did... but mine (NG4) was still working at 9am when i went out, and I only got back about 1/2 hr ago.

You're on the Mapperley UBR's, not Basford
