We bought our Smart TV 3 years ago and are still getting updates for the apps.

Well, that's not too bad then. I was under the impression that they weren't updated. Maybe it's just the non-video-consumption apps that are dropping off the radar.

Our Samsung is two years old and we have a smart Blu ray in the bedroom that turns an older TV smart. That is four years old and is still supported.
