Bush Freeview Recorder Hard Disk question

Hello,
My name is James Reid and I am a new member. I tried to post a new thread but don't see the appropriate button to do so.
I have a HDD I removed from my Bush Freeview Recorder B1BHDPVR, which stopped working. I have uploaded the contents of that HDD to my internal hard drive on my PC. The files are chunk files which are probably encrypted. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to open and view these files?, or convert them to viewable files, such as AVI? I have asked people on other forums such as Digital spy and AV forums, but they could not help. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I think you already know the answer and the files are likely to be encrypted and therefore you are on a hiding to nowhere. Surely anything you really want to view will be available to source elsewhere seeing as it is a Freeview box

These recordings are encrypted for the same reasons DVDs are encrypted. They stop people making illegal pirate copies of the copyrighted HD material recorded on them.

HDD encryption is mandatory for Freeview-compliant HD PVRs.

Why not try to fix it instead?

I have tried fixing the recorder, but it is not going to work. I thought in this day and age with all the various technologies available, breaking the encryption of a Freeview HDD would be easy. Obviously I was wrong.

Well it needs to be widespread for hacks to be made for it. I am guessing it is a pretty unique request

the consensus was it was not possible but also illegal even if some genius found a way.
