Re: English Cricket

Double header today, currently basking in the usual hot, sunny and cloudless skies at Old Trafford watching the last day of the county match. Then grab a bite to eat before going to the other Old Trafford for the Europa league game.

You did not miss much at Old Trafford as United were average to say the least as you might have been better for you if you had gone to experience the nightlife in Manchester.

Nine changes from weekend. Keeper and all back four making their first appearance of the season, five young graduates started, average age of team a fraction over 24 against a virtual ten man defence. Always a bit frustrating to watch but some good performances from the likes of Gomes, Greenwood and Tuanzebe and 3 points in the end.

I didn’t comment at the time but just remind me how Liverpool fared midweek?

Re: English Cricket

Back to cricket. A hard fought win in the end, the Middlesex batsman made a game of it but the Red Rose boys maintained their record as the only unbeaten team in both divisions of the Championship.

l wonder what the odds on them going straight back down a division as it might represent good value.

Re: English Cricket

Might be irrelevant which division anyway. Agnew's master plan for English cricket is proposing going back to a single division.

Re: English Cricket

Since when did the BBC’s cricket correspondent have any real say on the future of the game?

The trouble is too many of these correspondents are full of their own importance Jim.
